2. What Data Is Collected?

Plugox does not collect any personal data. There is no user account, no tracking, no analytics tools and no advertising.

The following data is processed exclusively on your device:

Favorites: Charging stations you save (stored locally in SwiftData)
App settings: Preferred filters, connector types and display options (stored in UserDefaults)
Price alerts: Notifications you set up for price changes (local notifications, no push server). Notification permission is requested for this feature.
Spotlight index: Favorites are indexed in iOS search (local to your device only)
Widgets & Apple Watch: Nearby stations and favorites are shared locally via App Group — no cloud sync
Siri & Shortcuts: The app offers Siri actions for finding charging stations. Your location is processed locally only.
Trip log: Charging sessions with odometer reading, trip purpose (personal/business), license plate and optional photos — stored exclusively on your device. Photos are JPEG-compressed and stored locally, not in iCloud or on any server.
Camera: The app can optionally access the camera to take photos for the trip log (e.g. vehicle condition). Permission is requested before first use. Photos are stored locally only.

3. Location Data

Plugox uses your location solely to show charging stations near you. Your location is:

Not stored — it is only used during active use of the app
Not transmitted — it is not sent to the developer or third parties
Not tracked — no recording of your movements takes place

Location permission can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings.

4. Data Sources

The charging station data displayed in the app comes from public sources:

OpenStreetMap — ODbL License
Bundesnetzagentur (BNetzA) — CC BY 4.0
NOBIL — Creative Commons (Norway, Sweden)
Open Charge Map — CC BY-SA
Mobilithek DATEX II — Open Data (Germany)

This data is retrieved via the Plugox backend server (hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany). Only the requested map area (bounding box) is transmitted — no personal data. Server logs are deleted after 7 days.

5. Third-Party Services

Plugox does not use any analytics tools (no Firebase, no Google Analytics, no Facebook SDK) and no advertising networks.

The app uses the following Apple services:

Apple MapKit: For map display and location search. Apple receives map tile requests and search queries. Apple's Privacy Policy applies.

6. Data Storage and Deletion

All user data is stored exclusively on your device (SwiftData). You can delete individual favorites at any time within the app. Uninstalling the app removes all local data.

7. Your Rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:

Access (Art. 15): You can find out what data is processed — with Plugox, this is exclusively locally stored data.
Erasure (Art. 17): You can delete all data by uninstalling the app or removing individual favorites.
Data portability (Art. 20): As no personal data is stored on our servers, data export is not applicable.
